A whole host of flagship Garmin smartwatches are eligible for a new software update. Distributed as Beta Version 16.22, the update introduces bug fixes related to Garmin's Connect IQ service, among other changes.

Garmin has released another update for the Fenix 7 series, which is also rolling out to Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7 and MARQ Gen 2 smartwatches. For context, numerous Garmin smartwatches have received new stable updates this month, or multiple for the Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965. Unfortunately, the same is not true for the Fenix 7 series or its peers.

In fact, these are all still running the same stable software that Garmin issued in late 2023. Instead, Garmin continues to finalise Beta 16.xx builds on its Beta Program. Having offered up Beta Version 16.20 last week, Garmin has now moved on to Beta Version 16.22, which contains the following changes:

  • Connect IQ bug fixes and improvements.
  • Fixed issue where the sensor hub software could fail to update.

As has been the case in the last few weeks, Beta Version 16.22 has arrived first for non-Pro models. However, this is often a temporary restriction that Garmin will lift in a few days. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
