GameMT has another retro gaming handheld waiting in the wings. Called the E5 Ultra, the device appears to represent a significant upgrade over the existing E5 Plus thanks to more RAM, storage and a much faster chipset.

Little over a month has passed since GameMT announced the E6 Max. In summary, the E6 Max utilises the Allwinner A527 chipset like a recent Helegaly gaming handheld that leans heavily on the design of the Powkiddy X35H (curr. $86.99 on Amazon). While GameMT has not released the E6 Max yet, details about a new gaming handheld have leaked online.

According to Nittrx, GameMT is working to deliver the E5 Ultra, which swaps the Rockchip RK3566 in the E5 Plus for the Unisoc Tiger T620. Incidentally, the latter is the same chipset found in the Retroid Pocket 2S. The E5 Ultra is also said to adopt 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, compared to the measly 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage inside the E5 Plus.

By the looks of it, the E5 Ultra retains the 5-inch, 720p and 16:9 display of the E5 Plus. The former also features the same stacked shoulder buttons and a built-in kickstand. However, GameMT has switched to a more standard Xbox controller layout with a pair of joysticks, albeit with an ABXY button scheme. Launch details for the E5 Ultra are not known for now, although we suspect it will debut in China before reaching other markets.
