Update April 30: GPD has announced the retail price for the Win Max, which will be US$885. The crowdfunding campaign ends on June 30, with deliveries starting after that date.
Original story:
We recently reported on the Chinese market price for the GPD Win Max and now the global market price has been revealed. Those who join the crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo for the handheld PC gaming console from May 18 will be able to purchase the device for US$779. Once the campaign is over the Win Max will then be sold at its regular retail price, which has yet to be announced.
The Chinese prices for the GPD Win Max handheld PC were leaked as 4,999 yuan (US$706) during the pre-sale period and then 5,799 yuan (US$819) afterwards, so it seems possible that the US$ figure after the campaign could be around the US$900-mark. For this amount, buyers will get a mighty 8-inch gaming laptop that weighs just 1.8 lbs (800 g).
The full specs for the GPD Win Max have already been listed, and the handheld PC packs quite a punch with its 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and quad-core Ice Lake SoC with Intel Iris Plus graphics. GPD has recently been showing off the power adapter for the tiny gaming computer in the form of a 65 W charger that utilizes gallium nitride, which allows for smaller power-providing components.
