Asus ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG arrives in North America: 5K 180Hz monitor with 330Hz mode for $849

The Asus ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG is a rare 5K gaming monitor, and it is now officially available in North America. Asus introduced the display at CES 2026 alongside the ROG Strix XG27UCG Gen 2, targeting both gamers and productivity pros.
Specifically, the XG27JCG features a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with a 5120 x 2880 resolution and a native 180Hz refresh rate. That translates to roughly 218 PPI, resulting in very sharp text and images for everyday work and content creation. For gaming, the monitor can switch to a QHD mode and boost the refresh rate up to 330Hz, making it ideal for fast-paced competitive gaming.
Smooth 5K gaming for $849
Even at its native 5K resolution, the XG27JCG can still hit a smooth 180Hz refresh rate. Needless to say, users will need a fairly powerful GPU to reach that ceiling. Asus recommends an Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series card or AMD Radeon RX 7600 and newer. Other gaming features include support for both G-Sync and FreeSync Premium, a 0.3 ms GtG response time, and Extreme Low Motion Blur 2 (ELMB 2) for improved clarity in fast-paced games.
The panel is certified under the DisplayHDR 600 tier with up to 600 nits peak brightness in HDR and 350 nits in SDR. It covers 97% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and offers a 1500:1 contrast ratio. Connectivity includes DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB-C with DP Alt Mode, and USB-A ports, although the USB-C port only delivers up to 15W of power.
The Asus ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG is now available in the US through the Asus store for $849. In Canada, pricing starts at CA$1,199 and it's available through Amazon.
