Deal | Best price: Acer Nitro XV272U 300 Hz 1440p gaming monitor drops to just $200 on Amazon

Aside from getting a faster GPU, one of the biggest upgrades for a desktop gaming system is getting a better monitor. Getting a new monitor for your desktop setup makes even more sense today, as, unlike CPUs, GPUs, RAM, and storage, gaming monitors are not getting more expensive.
On the contrary, you can get a pretty decent 1440p monitor for under $300. The Acer Nitro XV272U F3, for instance, is currently only $200 on Amazon. This 33% discounted price is the lowest ever, according to camelcamelcamel.
Specs-wise, the Acer Nitro X272U F3 features a 27-inch IPS panel with a 2,560 x 1,400p resolution and a speedy 300 Hz refresh rate. The panel is also anti-glare, can hit 400 nits of brightness, covers 99% sRGB/90% DCI-P3, and supports VESA DisplayHDR400. Other important specs include AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and a 0.5 ms response time.
Based on user reviews on Reddit and Rtings’ testing of a sister model with a 170 Hz refresh rate, the Acer Nitro XV272U F3 should make many gamers quite happy. Rtings notes that the X272U supports 360-degree swivel, a good tilt range, wide viewing angles, and almost matches the 400 nits of advertised maximum brightness. The monitor also excels in out-of-the-box color accuracy in sRGB.
Rtings' only major grip with the Acer Nitro X272U, which is likely to also affect the model on sale, is low contrast of just above 1,000:1. If you need inky deep blacks, your best bet are Mini-LED and OLED gaming monitors. But, keep in mind that these monitors will cost much more than the current price of the Acer Nitro X272U.
Simply put, the 27-inch Acer Nitro X272U 1440p gaming monitor is quite hard to beat at $200. There aren’t many, if any, 300 Hz monitors at this price point.
