Apple registers multiple model numbers with the EEC ahead of iPhone SE 3 and iPad Air 5 releases
Consomac has discovered three new registrations with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) made by Apple, which the EEC published yesterday. Typically, Apple registers model numbers with EEC in the months before launching new products, such as the iPhones 13 series and the Watch Series 7 last year. As usual, Apple's registrations only include model numbers and no further details. The new model numbers are as follows:
iPhone
- A2595
- A2783
- A2784
iPad
- A2436
- A2437
- A2588
- A2589
- A2591
- A2696
- A2757
- A2759
- A2761
- A2766
- A2777
Based on recent rumours, the iPhones are likely third-generation iPhone SE models. Reputedly, Apple will offer the iPhone SE 3 in three variants, distinguished by memory configurations. Expectations about a third-generation iPhone SE vary, but the consensus is that it will include the A15 Bionic and its integrated 5G modem. Also, the next iPhone SE is tipped to retain the single rear-facing camera layout of the current model.
Separately, the nine iPad model numbers could be for one device, such as the iPad Air 5. We should point out, Apple registered A2588, A2589 and A2777 last year, but none have come to market yet. Reportedly, a new iPad Air will arrive in the spring with an A15 Bionic SoC. However, the iPad Air 5 is expected to look exactly like the current model, albeit with a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle front camera that supports Center Stage. The iPhone 14 series is not thought to be arriving until September, at the earliest.
