Alleged Sony Xperia 1 VI, Xperia 5 VI, Xperia 10 VI memory amounts leak
The purported memory figures for the Mark 6 models of the Xperia 1, Xperia 5, and Xperia 10 have been shared online by a somewhat hit-and-miss source. The details reportedly come from the Chinese social media site Weibo, but there is no direct link provided by the secondary source (SumahoDigest), and the information doesn’t seem to come from a reasonably trusted Xperia source on Weibo (like Zackbuks). So, a pinch of salt here, although the amounts do seem believable.
It appears the Sony Xperia 1 VI will once again be treated to either 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM. While this would be the same as what was offered for the Xperia 1 V (check it out on Amazon), it can be argued that those amounts are still more than enough for daily use of any smartphone. While there are devices like the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro that can power along with 24 GB of RAM, there doesn’t seem to be a real need here for Sony to try to emulate that with its Xperia 1 VI.
This memory status quo stretches across the board, with the Xperia 5 VI apparently coming in just an 8 GB flavor like its predecessor while the Xperia 10 VI comes with 6 GB again. However, there might also be an 8 GB variant of the Xperia 10 VI on the horizon, although as pointed out by the secondary source, there are already region-specific models of the Xperia 10 V with that higher RAM amount. Leaker Zackbuks has claimed that the Sony Xperia 1 VI could be revealed in May and start being sold in June.
