Acer launching new 16-inch gaming laptop with Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, Ryzen 9 270, and 180Hz display

Acer has listed a more powerful Nitro V 16 AI configuration featuring AMD's Ryzen 9 270 processor. Carrying the ANV16-A31-R8XV model number, the new model is available for pre-order in the US through Amazon for $2,099.99, with shipping slated for July 12.
Previously, Acer offered the Nitro V 16 AI with Ryzen 7 260, Ryzen AI 7 350, and Ryzen 5 processor options. The new configuration upgrades to AMD's Ryzen 9 270, an 8-core, 16-thread processor with boost clocks of up to 5.2GHz and a 45W base TDP (54W max). The chip is said to offer the same performance as the Ryzen 9 8945HS and R9 7940HS, so it's a fast and capable mobile processor. In any case, this configuration should be faster than the previous variants. Acer pairs the Hawk Point chip with an 85W GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 512GB SSD.
That said, the laptop also features a 16-inch display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 180Hz refresh rate, and 100% coverage of the sRGB color gamut. Other specifications include Wi-Fi 6E, a USB4 port with 90W charging support, full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1, three USB-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Nitro V 16 AI ANV16-A31-R8XV is available to preorder now on Amazon for $2,099.99 ahead of its July 12 release. Acer has also listed a more affordable configuration featuring a Ryzen AI 7 450 processor and an RTX 5060 laptop GPU for $1,899.99, launching on the same day.
