The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has announced that AMD’s CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, will be delivering the opening keynote at Computex 2019. The keynote has been scheduled for May 27, and it seems like this could be the ideal setting for Su to show off AMD’s anticipated Radeon Navi GPU series. It’s also been speculated that she could launch the Ryzen 3000 series at the same time.

A press release from TAITRA has revealed that AMD’s Lisa Su has been invited to be the opening keynote speaker at this year’s Computex expo in Taipei. The CEO will be discussing the subject “The Next Generation of High-Performance Computing”. Unsurprisingly, this news has created a flurry of excitement about a possible unveiling of AMD’s Navi GPUs and even a launch for the Zen 2-based Ryzen 3000 desktop processors.

It’s important to be careful not to presume too much based on the words of the press release, even if it does seem to offer some tantalizing comments that point in the direction of a Navi reveal. For instance, Su made this statement in reference to her invitation:

I am honored to deliver the opening keynote this year and provide new details about the next generation of high-performance AMD platforms and products.

Of course, there’s no specific naming of Navi, Ryzen 3000, or EPYC Rome. The press release describes AMD’s growth and makes mention of some of the company’s products and future projects. A further comment basically reiterates Su’s statement, but it does once again suggest that there could be a big reveal:

During the CEO Keynote, Dr. Lisa Su and other high-profile guests will highlight new details of upcoming products…

The keynote kicks off at 10 a.m. local time on Monday May 27. This seems to be the best indicator so far for an official unveiling of AMD’s 7nm Navi GPU range and a possible launch date for the Zen 2 Ryzen 3000 series of processors.
