Minisforum intros AMD Ryzen 7040HS Series-powered Venus UM780 Pro and UM790 Pro mini PCs
Less than a week after teasing them, Minisforum has unveiled the full list of specs and a few images of the UM780 Pro and UM790 Pro mini PCs, alongside an official video presentation that surfaced on YouTube a few hours ago. While the UM780 Pro is powered using the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor, the heart of the UM790 Pro is the slightly more potent AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS.
Leaving aside the processors mentioned above, the UM780 Pro and UM790 Pro share the following list of specs and features:
- AMD Radeon 780M graphics adapter
- dual-channel DDR5 5600 MHz support (two slots, up to 64 GB)
- 2 X M.2 2280 PCIe SSD slots
- M.2 2230 WiFi Card (WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2)
- 2 X HDMI and 2 X USB 4 video outputs
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- 2.5 GbE RJ45 Ethernet and 4 X USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
The new mini PC design used in the UM780 Pro and its sibling features a new cooling system which provides active heat reduction to both memory and storage unit(s) alongside the processor. Details regarding the available configurationsm their prices, and shipment date should become available later this month. All configurations with included storage will come with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled.
Minisforum also promises to unveil the Mercury Series mini PCs soon. These upcoming compact machines will feature a new 1/4-liter case and will use the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor.
