Update: It appears the Mi A2 received the April patch sneakily a short while ago, so is currently up to date. The Mi A2 Lite remains forgotten, however.
-----------------------
Xiaomi led the Android One race in 2017 with the release of the Mi A1, then followed it up with the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite a year after. Four years after the release of the Mi A1, however, it appears Xiaomi deems its Android One endeavors to have been a failure, and is giving up.
The Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite have already received the two major OS upgrades promised by the Android One program—Android Pie and Android 10. However, Android One phones typically get three years of security patches. The Mi A1 did, for example. Sadly, though, it appears Xiaomi has completely forgotten that part of the deal with the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite.
By all indications, the last update Xiaomi sent out to the Mi A2 Lite was in February, three months ago. For the Mi A2, the last update was in March, two months ago. Could it be that Xiaomi has finally decided to abandon both devices? It wouldn't come as a surprise, in any case, as the company doesn't seem to be keen on releasing any other devices in the series after shelving plans for the Mi A4 last year. It's still bad news for owners of the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, however.
