The Xiaomi Mi A3 receives May 2021 security patch update; 13 critical or high CVEs addressed
Xiaomi has brought the Mi A3 onto the May 2021 security patch. Currently, the company has only released Google's latest security patch to devices enrolled on its global software branch, leaving those on its European branch on the April patch.
V12.0.9.0.RFQMIXM is a 40 MB download and is available as an over-the-air (OTA) update. As usual, the Mi A3's latest update only optimises system performance and improves system security/stability, rather than adding any features.
However, the latest Android security bulletin confirms that this month's update addresses 13 security vulnerabilities. You can read more here about what this month's security patch changes.
V12.0.9.0.RFQMIXM should be rolling out globally now to all eligible Mi A3 handsets. If the update has not reached your device, then you could download the OTA or recovery zip file from Xiaomi Firmware Updater. All files are hosted on Xiaomi's servers, for reference.
Xiaomi released the Mi A3 in July 2019, so this may be one of the device's final updates. The company has recently dropped other Android One devices too, as we reported earlier this week.
