Xiaomi Mijia Vertical Learning Lamp arrives with two-stage lighting
The Xiaomi Mijia Vertical Learning Lamp is now available to pre-order in China. The smart light, designed for children, has full spectrum LED lamp beads to generate a natural-looking light. There are two layers of lighting, with 7,000 lumens generated by an upper ring, casting ambient light towards the ceiling, and a lower level generating 3,000 lumens brightness directed downwards.
According to Xiaomi, the centre of the Mija Vertical Learning Lamp achieves around 1,857 Lux. The head is rotatable by 90°, so you can tailor the lighting to suit your needs. You can adjust the light with the accompanying Bluetooth remote, Xiao AI voice commands or the Mijia app. Further controls are available in the app, such as gradient duration, which controls the speed with which the lamp’s brightness increases, thus protecting your eyes. Other attributes include Ra98 color rendering, a 4,000K color temperature and an anti-glare effect.
The base, measuring 480 x 330 mm (~18.9 x 13.0-in), weighs 10 kg (~22.0 lbs) and is 8 mm (~0.3 in) thick, allowing you to slide it under furniture for extra security. The lamp is 2,055 mm tall (~81-in), with the light head measuring 600 x 280 mm (~23.6 x 11.0-in). You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Vertical Learning Lamp White in China for the discounted price of 2,299 yuan (~US$314) with a 100 yuan (~US$14) deposit. The smart home gadget is expected to retail for 2,999 yuan (~US$410), meaning these early customers save 700 yuan (~US$96). Whether Xiaomi intends to launch the map in other markets remains to be seen.
