Xiaomi Mijia Mini Washing Machine 3kg launches with 15-minute cycle
Xiaomi has revealed the Mijia Mini Washing Machine 3kg, which is now available to pre-order in China. The company suggests that the gadget is suitable for washing smaller batches of clothes, children's clothing or delicate items. As the product's name suggests, it has a 3 kg (~6.6 lbs) capacity. Xiaomi estimates that this is equivalent to ten t-shirts, eight shirts or twelve items of kids clothing.
Various washing cycles are available, including a 15-minute quick washing setting. Using a built-in touchscreen control panel, you can adjust the device's settings, like the cycle and water level. The machine has a self-cleaning barrel, a lint filter, and a child safety lock. Xiaomi claims that the machine takes up 0.18 m² (~1.94 ft²), around the same size as half a floor tile. The space-saving device measures 412 x 422 x 730 mm (~16.2 x 16.6 x 28.7-in) and weighs 19 kg (~42 lbs).
The gadget's door is on the top, opening up to a 93° angle. The washing machine consumes 0.043 kWh and 57 L per working cycle, rated as level 3 energy efficient. You can currently pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Mini Washing Machine 3kg in China for 699 yuan (~US$97) with a 100 yuan (~US14) deposit. The device is expected to retail for 999 yuan (~US$139) after this pre-sale period.
