Last week, Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 11R, another re-badged smartphone that originally launched globally as the POCO M4 5G. However, recent 3C certifications suggest that the Redmi Note 12 series is at an advanced stage of development. For context, just over a month has passed since the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) published Xiaomi 13 and Redmi Note 12 series model numbers.
As the image below shows, Xiaomi has certified three Redmi Note 12 series smartphones in China, all with 5G modems. Additionally, the listings report that the model numbers for these devices are 22101316UCP, 22101316UC and 22101316C, signalling that they are all devices of the same family. Incidentally, the EEC already confirmed that 22101316C and 22101316UC are Redmi devices and that they will receive a global release as the 22101316G and 22101316UG.
Based on the information that the 3C has provided in its 'Model Specification' column, the 22101316UC will support up to 210 W fast charging, with its MDY-13-EU power adapter capable of delivering 20 V/10.5 A. Currently thought to be the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, the appearance of the 22101316UG at the EEC implies that 210 W fast charging will make its way outside China too. By contrast, the 22101316UCP will support 120 W charging, making it a likely candidate for the Redmi Note 12 Pro. Also, there is 22101316C, a smartphone that peaks at 67 W fast charging.
Hence, it seems likely that Xiaomi will eventually release the Redmi Note 12 and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus globally, with the Redmi Note 12 Pro left as a Chinese exclusive. Alternatively, Xiaomi may offer the 22101316UCP under a different brand, such as POCO. Currently, it is unknown when Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 12 series globally. However, we suspect that the company will unveil the series before the end of the year in China.
