Xiaomi has launched the Redmi A1 Plus, less than a month after the device leaked online. As expected, the Redmi A1 Plus shares many features with the Redmi A1, itself only announced a month ago. In fact, it appears that the Redmi A1 Plus offers one advantage over its sibling.
Specifically, the Redmi A1 Plus has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, unlike the Redmi A1. Conversely, both feature a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset with up to 3 GB of RAM and expandable storage. Additionally, Xiaomi includes a 5,000 mAh battery, a micro USB port that supports 10 W charging and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Moreover, the Redmi A1 Plus contains a 6.52-inch display that outputs merely at 720p and 60 Hz.
Likewise, the Redmi A1 Plus relies on the same camera sensors, the highlight of which being an 8 MP primary sensor. The Redmi A1 Plus starts at INR 7,499 (~US$91) with 2 GB of RAM and rises to INR 8,499 (~US$103) with 3 GB of RAM. For reference, while Xiaomi offers the device in Black, Light Blue and Light Green colourways, it only comes with 32 GB of built-in storage.
