Xiaomi releases Redmi Pad in Europe with a 90 Hz display at a mid-range price tag
Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Pad, one of many products introduced at today's global hardware event. As expected, the Redmi Pad is a cheaper option than the Xiaomi Pad 5 series, such as the recent Pad 5 Pro 12.4. As for the Redmi Pad, Xiaomi has built the tablet around a 10.61-inch display that operates at 1080p and 90 Hz. Additionally, the tablet supports a low blue light mode to minimise eye strain when using the tablet at night.
Separately, the Redmi Pad contains the MediaTek Helio G99, a 6 nm SoC that Xiaomi complements with at least 3 GB of RAM. Xiaomi adds that all Redmi Pad SKUs feature 8,000 mAh batteries that support 18 W fast charging, although the company includes 22.5 W chargers in the box, for some reason. Moreover, the Redmi Pad features twin 8 MP cameras, with one on each side.
According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Pad will be orderable from October 5 at 13:00 CET (11:00 UTC). The tablet will start at €299.90 with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, with a 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage option available for €329.90. Seemingly, both storage options will be orderable in Green, Grey and Silver colourways. It is worth noting that Xiaomi will briefly offer the entry-level unit for €279.90, but only until October 7.
