Walmart's Onn series of Google TV streaming devices has a well-earned reputation for offering some of the best-value options on the market. The latest entry in the series, the Onn 4K Streaming Stick, continues that trend.

Walmart has quietly made changes to its Onn Google TV lineup of streaming devices over the past few months, raising prices of some models and flat-out discontinuing sales of others. The brand has now launched a new device in the lineup, and it arrives as an entry-level product.

This new device, the Onn 4K Streaming Stick, appears to be intended to take the place of the Onn 4K box that was released a few years ago. That Google TV box debuted back in 2023 with a ~$20 MSRP that was raised to ~$25 a while ago. Walmart still has the Onn 4K box in stock but the new Onn 4K Streaming Stick brings a number of changes as well as a higher MSRP.

The Onn 4K Streaming Stick trades in the Onn 4K box's Amlogic S905Y4 chipset for a more powerful Realtek RTD1325. It remains to be seen how this chipset compares to the Amlogic S905X5M on the Onn 4K Plus. Another significant change on the Onn 4K Streaming Stick is the presence of a Type-C port, versus the Onn 4K's micro USB one. The streaming stick maintains the 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage from the box, runs on Android TV 14, and offers support for HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos.

Dolby Vision could be a different matter, however, as the box makes no mention of support for the format on its packaging. While we cannot yet confirm the absence of Dolby Vision support, it seems unlikely that the new Onn 4K Streaming Stick offers it. It wouldn't be surprising either, as both the Onn FHD Stick and the Onn 4K box do not support Dolby Vision, while the Onn 4K Plus and Onn 4K Pro do—and advertise that fact proudly on their boxes.

The Onn 4K Streaming Stick has yet to be listed on Walmart's US website but appears to be in stock at physical locations. According to one Redditor who claims to have bought a unit, the Onn 4K Streaming Stick is priced at $30. That makes it the cheapest 4K Google TV streaming stick available in the US, although the potential lack of Dolby Vision could be a dealbreaker to some.
