Walmart has once again put up the listing of its new streaming box, the Onn 4K Plus. The new streaming device sits between the Onn 4K and the Onn 4K Pro with its pricing but some of its features place it above the more expensive Pro model.
Priced at $29.88, the Onn 4K Plus has an Amlogic S905X5M quad-core processor with four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and a Mali-G310 V2 GPU. This is a more powerful chipset than the Amlogic S905X4 processor inside the Onn 4K Pro which also has four Cortex-A55 cores but clocked at 2.0GHz and a Mali-G32 MP2 GPU.
The Pro model has the advantage in terms of RAM and storage as it has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage while the Onn 4K Plus has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. A welcome upgrade the new Plus model has is a USB-C port for power and not a DC barrel jack, although it lacks an Ethernet port unlike the Onn 4K Pro.
To keep the price down, the Onn 4K Plus comes with a voice remote but not the backlit type with the Find My Remote feature of the Pro model. Notwithstanding, the Onn 4K Plus is a better replacement to Google's discontinued Chromecast with Google TV and a more affordable option to the Google TV Streamer (available on Amazon for $99.99).
As at the time of writing, the listing currently says the device is out of stock, but you can choose to be notified when it is back in stock.
