Walmart's Onn 4K and Onn 4K Pro streaming boxes arrive outside the US with higher price tags
Walmart's Onn series of Google TV boxes are the price-performance champions in that niche. While the company kept those devices exclusive to the US and its territories for a long time, that has now changed.
As shared on Reddit by multiple users, both Onn boxes have been hitting Walmart shelves across Canada, with the boxes being spotted at a Walmart in London, ON. Redditors in cities like Toronto, Ottawa, and Winnipeg have also confirmed seeing the Google TV boxes at Walmart locations there.
To be exact, the Onn 4K Pro, Onn 4K, and Onn FHD stick are all also listed on Walmart.ca right now for purchase, with MSRPs of CA$74.98, CA$52.98, and CA$38.98 respectively. Those numbers convert into slightly more than their prices in the US. The Onn 4K is a particularly egregious example, with its Canadian MSRP being the direct equivalent of US$38, even though it's priced at just US$20 in the US.
It should be noted, though, that those prices still leave the boxes as the best-value Google TV-certified options on the market—and by a distance too. Google's own TV Streamer 4K (buy on Amazon US), for example, is mostly matched by the Onn 4K Pro but costs CA$129.99
On a side note, the new Onn 4K Plus is, of course, yet to reach Canada. While that box is already on store shelves in the US, it still hasn't been listed on Walmart's website so will likely take a while longer to be available in the Canadian market.
