Vivo officially reveals new V series phone with Zeiss cameras

The Vivo V series is a mid-range smartphone lineup featuring devices such as the Vivo V70 and Vivo V80 Lite. Now, the company has officially confirmed the next model in the series: the Vivo V80.

The phone is set to launch in India on October 6, 2026. Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed several details. It features a 6.59-inch OLED display with a "1.5K" resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The company says the display is rated for 5,000 nits of local peak brightness and can dim as low as 1 nit.

The V80 features a Zeiss-tuned camera system. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP Sony LYT-700V primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and OIS. It is joined by a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor. The telephoto camera supports OIS and 3x optical zoom. The phone also features an ultrawide camera. On the front, it has a 50MP camera with autofocus.

The phone packs a 7,200mAh battery with 90W wired charging (25K Ugreen powerbank curr. $79.99 on Amazon). The Vivo V80 will ship with OriginOS 7 and the company claims up to six years of security updates.

Additional details and pricing are yet to be confirmed. For reference, the previous-gen Vivo V70 features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a 120Hz AMOLED display, and a 6,500mAh battery. It is currently listed at INR 59,999 (~$628) for the 8GB/256GB variant in India.
