RedMagic reveals new flagship gaming phone with slim bezels and light build

RedMagic is gearing up to launch its next-gen flagship gaming phone lineup, and the company has already confirmed that the release timeline is set for October 2026 in China. The phones within the upcoming series will be competing against the likes of the OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16.

Ahead of the scheduled release, the company has now shared some teaser pictures of the RedMagic 12 Pro series, with the Pro+ being under the spotlight. These renders don't fully showcase the flagship gaming phone, but they share some design elements.

For instance, through the teasers, the brand has confirmed that the RedMagic 12 Pro Plus will be lighter than its predecessor. To look back, the last-gen flagship phone weighs 230 grams (about 8.11oz), and the weight reduction on the upcoming device could lead to better comfort during prolonged gaming sessions.

Another key detail shared by RedMagic is that the new flagship gaming phone has seen a screen bezel reduction. The company says the bezels on the upcoming device measure 0.96mm, and this is a notable change from the RedMagic 11 Pro+, which has bezels that measure 1.25mm.

As for the last teaser picture, it showcases the rounded corners of the RedMagic 12 Pro+, and this change should lead to a more comfortable hand feel than with the last-gen flagship gaming phone. There's nothing about the core specs of the device, but it's expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

It's also expected to adopt an advanced cooling solution, which could give it an edge over competitors like the iQOO 16 and OnePlus 16 during heavy loads (Cyberix phone cooler curr. $23.99 on Amazon). More official details about the RedMagic 12 Pro series should emerge in the coming days.
