Vivo's latest and most propitious announcement has been one in which the OEM finally confirmed that the X Fold would be a thing in 2022. Now, it has set a date on which its price and availability will be revealed. The famous leaker Digital Chat Station has chimed in here to suggest that the upcoming X Note might launch at or around the same time, as might the first tablet from the same company.
Nevertheless, the headline for many Vivo fans is that its first-gen foldable smartphone, to launch as a new member of the typically Zeiss-branded X line, will be here soon. According to Digital Chat Station, it will do so with a 2.5K main display direct from Samsung, with cameras that might live up to its series' reputation.
The tipster has also now made allusions to new software that might pertain to the X Fold known as OriginOS HD, whereas the latest version of this Android skin is called Ocean. Therefore, Vivo might also introduce it, as well as its rumored "internet of everything" tie-in, in exactly 2 weeks from now, or on April 11, 2022.
On this date, it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the Find N from Vivo's sister brand OPPO. On that note, the OEM's new teaser video for the X Fold indicates that it and its related foldable are possibly very different in terms of design: it seems to have a power button and volume rocker along the same edge, whereas they are found on opposite ends of the N when the device is open.
