Vivo X Fold: More specifications emerge as Indian launch confirmed
Vivo may not be unveiling the X Fold until next week, but more information about the foldable has appeared online. Not only has JD.com listed the smartphone on its website, but another Chinese retailer is also already teasing the device in a brick and mortar store. Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold will launch in India at some stage, too.
Unfortunately, the company has not stated when announced when the X Fold will be making its way to India. However, Vivo will showcase the X Fold on April 11 in China. As the image below shows, the X Fold will debut with an 8-inch interior display that offers a 2K resolution and relies on Samsung's E5 AMOLED panel type. Additionally, the display has a 120 Hz refresh and LTPO 3.0 backplane technology for variable refresh rates.
Moreover, the X Fold has a 6.53-inch cover display with the same refresh rate but only a 1080p resolution. Predictably, Vivo equips the X Fold with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, complemented by LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage. Furthermore, Vivo includes a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 66 W wired and 50 W wireless charging, plus an impressive camera array.
Specifically, the X Fold has the ISOCELL GN5 from the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+, a 50 MP camera with OIS. Also, the smartphone features a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, along with a 5x periscope camera that support OIS. Currently, it is unknown how much the X Fold will cost, but we doubt that the device will come cheap.
