Vivo's first-gen foldable, slated to be called the NEX Fold X Fold, is projected to have more or less the same form-factor as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 flagship. This rumor might be borne out by a new leak. It is of the genre in which a company employee takes a pre-release device out in public in the doomed hope that its picture somehow doesn't end up on Weibo afterward.
However, according to the well-known tipster Bald Panda, this is exactly what has happened to the Vivo X Fold. The foldable device as photographed is in the kind of case designed to hide all aspects of its rear panel (then again, its buttons and their placement are visible). However, it is visible from the other side.
The image might thus validate hints of an ~8-inch primary display for the first-gen device. The panel is opened flat and, as Bald Panda notes, seems to exhibit few signs of the dreaded crease - in fact, the Vivo foldable might apparently rival the Honor Magic V in this respect.
Accordingly, based on its leaks thus far, the X Fold is shaping up to be powerful competition for that flagship, not to mention those from Samsung and even its OEM's sister brand OPPO - with faster charging to boot.
