The 64-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX has made it onto PassMark’s CPU Mark chart for high-end CPUs, and in the process has produced a score that has demolished the competition. The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX is so dominant that it manages a +23.19% leap over the 64-core AMD EPYC 7763 server chip.

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX processor was recently released and has now made its way to PassMark’s synthetic benchmark, where five samples (at the time of writing) have been put through a barrage of tests. Unsurprisingly, the 64-core, 128-thread Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX put up quite a performance, although the current result is probably more impressive than could have been expected. Not only does the Chagall PRO Zen 3 chip score over 100,000 points, it also leaves a huge gap between itself and powerful server CPUs like the EPYC 7J13 and 7763.

The new Threadripper processor sits on a score of 108,822 points, which really is phenomenal when you compare it with the former chart champion EPYC 7763 on 88,388 points (+23.19% advantage for the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX here). Other powerful CPUs are also left far behind by the new monster from Team Red, which has a 280 W default TDP and 256 MB L3 cache. The performance advantage for the 64-core titan over the Intel Xeon Platinum 8380 (62,317 points) is +74.6% and the more mainstream Intel Core i9-12900KF (40,871 points) yields to a +166.26 lead for the AMD processor.

However, before DIY PC builders head for their nearest bank account to withdraw money and attempt to snap up this high-performance chip, it seems AMD has decided to make the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX an OEM-only SKU for the time being. In fact, upon release it was only made available for the Lenovo ThinkStation P620. The powerful desktop chip, which is based on TSMC's 7 nm manufacturing process, has a base rate of 2.7 GHz and a peak clock rate of 4.5 GHz, and it utilizes the sWRX8 CPU socket.
