The X300 and X300 Pro arrived on October 14, a year and a day after Vivo introduced them in China. However, Digital Chat Station now reports that a major change could be on the cards for the accompanying X300 Ultra.
For context, Samsung is said to have delayed its next Galaxy S refresh until the end of February. If that does occur, then it would see the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $949 on Amazon) staying on shelves about a month after their first anniversaries.
By contrast, Xiaomi is expected to replace the Xiaomi 15 Ultra after just ten months, with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra supposedly landing during the holiday season in China. According to Digital Chat Station, Vivo is plotting a similar move for the X300 Ultra after launching the X200 Ultra in April.
Writing on Weibo, the leaker claims that internal development of Vivo's next Ultra smartphone is 'progressing faster than its predecessor'. Equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the X300 Ultra is apparently 'scheduled for March', or just 11 months after the X200 Ultra debuted in China.
Incidentally, Vivo is anticipated to complement Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset with a trio of high-end rear-facing cameras too, full details of which we have covered separately.
