Huawei will be introducing multiple smartphones next week. So far, the company has announced that the standard Mate 80 will be joined by the Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max and the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design. Additionally, the Mate X7 will also be in attendance as Huawei's second foldable smartphone release of 2025 and Galaxy Z Fold7 rival (curr. $1,599 on Amazon).
While Huawei is not fully unveiling the Mate 80 series until next Tuesday, it has posted a few teasers on Chinese social media. For instance, it has suggested that various Mate 80 series models will support a new ultra-long battery mode, full details of which we have covered separately. Additionally, the company has shared a few Mate 80 series camera samples.
Embedded below, Huawei's CEO claims that the Mate 80 Pro series delivers exceptional portrait or telephoto performance with excellent colour reproduction and high dynamic range. For reference, the CEO has posted two taken using the Mate 80 Pro, three with the Mate 80 Pro Max and one using the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design apiece. Unfortunately, neither the samples themselves nor Huawei's CEO have revealed any camera specifications.
Thus, it is unclear whether the trio contain the same camera hardware. Regardless, we would recommend viewing any manufacturer's camera samples with a degree of caution as there is every chance they have been edited in one way or another.
