Xiaomi will not be replacing the Poco F7 Pro or Poco F7 Ultra (curr. $732 on Amazon) until next month. For reference, the company has already committed to launching the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra before the end of the year, contrary to past Poco F series generations.
Having confirmed details about a November 26 launch event earlier this week, Xiaomi has now pivoted to teasing details about both smartphones. For instance, the company revealed that the Poco F8 Pro would be utilising the same Snapdragon 8 Elite as the existing Poco F7 Ultra. Meanwhile, the Poco F8 Ultra is set to become Xiaomi's first smartphone to launch globally with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 silicon.
Subsequently, specifications relating to both the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra emerged online. Complementing these, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra will differ drastically when it comes to display sizes and battery capacities despite falling under the same series.
On the one hand, the Poco F8 Pro will leverage a 6,210 mAh battery for a 210 mAh and 3.5% increase over its predecessor. However, the new device will drop to a 6.59-inch display, down from the 6.67-inch equivalent in the Poco F7 Pro. On the other hand, the Poco F8 Ultra will take advantage of a 6,500 mAh battery and a 6.9-inch display, which represent 23% and 0.23-inches increases over the Poco F7 Ultra. The Poco F8 Ultra will depart from previous models with a 5x telephoto camera too, which should help distinguish it from the Poco F8 Pro when the pair launch later this month.
