Digital Chat Station has shared what they claim are 'exclusive' details relating to what appears to be an unreleased Oppo smartphone. Writing on Weibo, the leaker has used the same emoji it typically uses when referring to forthcoming Oppo devices.
As the screenshot below shows, Digital Chat Station reports that Oppo is currently prototyping a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 device with a 6.78-inch LTPS AMOLED display to roughly match the size of the existing Find X9 Pro. Incidentally, a recent AnTuTu benchmark suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 would provide the unnamed Oppo smartphone with about as much power as stablemates like the OnePlus 13 (curr. $799 on Amazon).
Moreover, Oppo's current engineering prototype is said to output at 1.5K with a circa 8,000 mAh battery. However, it does not appear as though Digital Chat Station is referring to Oppo's alternative to the Ace 6T, which also relies upon the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
Instead, the leaker states that this smartphone should be considered a 'mid-range device'. Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station asserts that the device is currently being prototyped with an active cooling solution. Water and dust proof, this fan should help push the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 beyond the 3.5 million points it has achieved inside the OnePlus Ace 6T. Unfortunately, other details about the device, including its name and approximate release date, remain unknown for now.
