Vivo's V40-series Android smartphones are an unusual prospect as they are graced with the brand's exclusive Zeiss logos and multiple 50MP cameras despite their mid-range status.
Now, they are tipped to get even better in their next generation, with a Pro version upgraded in terms of its processor and rear cameras. The same device is also now projected to have a 6.67-inch 1.5K version of a display designated "Q10", an epithet also applied to that of the higher-end iQoo 13 prior to its launch.
The rumor mill has now also turned to the vanilla V50, which has allegedly popped up on Geekbench as the Vivo V2429A. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC: a potentially underwhelming prospect compared to its Pro counterpart, particularly as it is unchanged compared to the V40 (currently available on Amazon.in).
On the other hand, the "V50" is also backed to launch with an equally slim build despite its 6,500mAh battery: a significant upgrade on its predecessor and also up to 1,000mAh more than the rumored Pro variant. Then again, the vanilla model's cameras might also remain unchanged generation on generation.
Therefore, the V50 series might be an even more compelling prospect than their forebears on the international market. But first, however, they are projected to launch as the S20 line for the Chinese market during an event now said to take place on November 28, 2024.
