Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro debut with 4,500 nits display, 5,500 mAh battery and up to four 50 MP cameras
After the Vivo V40 SE and the Vivo V40 Lite 5G, Vivo is now introducing the two top models of the V40 series, the Vivo V40 and the Vivo V40 Pro. Both models look confusingly similar, as both have a 7.6 millimeter thin casing that is IP68-certified and thus water-resistant.
The display, which is rounded on the left and right, is also identical, with Vivo installing a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,260, a frame rate of 120 Hz and an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The 5,500 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C with up to 80 watts, but wireless charging is not possible.

Both smartphones have a 50 MP f/2.0 selfie camera, a 50 MP f/1.88 main camera with a sensor in 1/1.56 inch format and a 50 MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle camera, while the 50 MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom is only available on the more expensive Vivo V40 Pro. The biggest difference between the two smartphones is the processor: while the Vivo V40 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, the V40 Pro offers a real flagship chip in the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+.
