ViewSonic's latest VG56V Series of monitors come with their own pop-up cameras for a new perspective on pro-grade remote conferencing. The OEM asserts that their new front-facing "docking" web-cams improve on user security as well as enhance how they present themselves during online meetings. The new displays also support USB type-C, DisplayPort and giga connectivity.

Pop-up cameras may have gone out of fashion among Android devices; however, ViewSonic now maintains that they have a valid, if not "revolutionary", role in larger-screen devices. To this end, the new VG56V Series monitors have debuted as first-gen "webcam docking" monitors from the California-based company.

ViewSonic has developed its new pop-up cameras beyond some original examples, to the point that they have their own "fill-light" LEDs on either side. They can, furthermore, be adjusted in terms of color temperature, while the entire docking camera can be tilted either backward or forward through 5°.

Those features help the VG56V Series assuage those concerns of improved lighting and angle that are not just for vloggers any more.

On that note, the monitors also of course integrate their own dual speakers and 2-way mics with an "industry-leading audio focus function that eliminates unwanted background noise" from either end of a conferencing connection.

In addition, as ViewSonic points out, the VG56V Series have the potential to offer a more secure form of webcam, as users can push them back down into the body of these new monitors at will.

At present, the line consists of the VG2456V and higher-end VG2756V-2K variants, with FHD/2MP and 2K/5MP display resolution/docked camera specs respectively.

Both models also feature general ViewSonic VG-series advantages such as a stand with a pivot-, tilt-, swivel, and height-adjustable stand complete with substantial handle and 100x100 VESA mount.

They also both support a generous array of ports for "complete connectivity", including 1 90W type-C port and an RJ-45 jack for gigabit Ethernet, although the HDMI is 1.4 and the DisplayPort is input-only.

ViewSonic's online US store currently lists the VG246V for US$358.99 and the VG2756V-2K for US$480.99. - however, the latter can be found on Amazon for only US$459.99 right now.
