Marshall Middleton portable speaker has just arrived with 20-hour playback
The Marshall Middleton portable Bluetooth speaker has been launched. The company claims that it is the loudest speaker of its size, with balance at high volumes provided by a Dynamic Loudness feature. The quad-speaker system includes two 3/5-in 10 W tweeters, two 3-in 15 W woofers and two passive radiators. Plus, the True Stereophonic tool ensures quality sound travels from the gadget in all directions.
The portable Middleton speaker can last for over 20 hours, with a full recharge taking around four to five hours; a 20-minute charge provides up to two hours of playback. You can Stack multiple Middleton units to create a louder sound or pair the device to other Bluetooth speakers such as Marshall Emberton. An integrated multi-directional lets you to play, skip and adjust volume, and you can use secondary buttons to control bass and treble. Alternatively, you can remotely control the device via the app by pairing your smartphone; the gadget has a 10 m (~30 ft) Bluetooth range.
Suitable for indoor or outdoor use, the gadget is rated as IP67 dust and water-resistant; according to Marshall, you could submerge the speaker in water at 1 m (~3.3 ft) depth for around 30 minutes. The device also doubles as a power bank, allowing you to charge your phone via USB-C. The compact gadget measures 109 x 230 x 95 mm (~4.29 x 9.06 x 3.74-in) and weighs 1.8 kg (~4.0 lb), with a built-in strap to make it easier to carry.
