Ultimea has a new soundbar in its range in the Ultimea Nova S80. The term "soundbar" is not quite accurate, as additional drivers are included for a particularly immersive experience. It is thus more of a sound system, but the soundbar is the starting point. The model is advertised as a 5.1.2 system and is currently available at Amazon with a decent discount of 25%, down to $299.99 from $399.99. Buyers who purchase directly via the manufacturer will get a further $60 off, bringing the total down to $239.99.
An advantage when setting up the system is that a few cable connections are required. The subwoofer requires a power connection, but no cable connection to the soundbar. Two surround speakers are available, while the soundbar itself has 3-inch and 1.7-inch drivers, and the total number of drivers is specified as 8. The subwoofer measures 8 inches diagonally and is intended to provide powerful bass reproduction. Ultimea specifies the peak output as 520 watts, which is unlikely to reflect continuous output, but rather the sound peaks.
Audio content can be transmitted to the sound system in various ways. There is an HDMI input, for example, and image content can then be passed on via HDMI eARC. On the back there is a USB port, an optical input and a jack connection. Wireless transmission via Bluetooth 5.3 is also possible.
