Ultimea is expanding its already extensive lineup of audio products with another Dolby Atmos-capable speaker system. The Apollo S80 soundbar can be ordered directly from the manufacturer’s website for just under $180. This is just a pre-order, and shipping for US customers is slated to start in early February. Canadian shoppers, on the other hand, won’t have to wait as the soundbar is already in stock and ready to ship. Eventually, the Apollo S80 is also expected to be available on Amazon.
This soundbar comes with surround sound, but unlike other audio systems from Ultimea, rear satellite speakers are not included. Instead, the soundbar itself houses a total of five speakers. These drivers each have a diameter of 2 inches. It’s also somewhat surprising that the soundbar can be disassembled into three parts — the center speaker and speakers for the left and right channels.
All three parts can be wall-mounted individually. A dedicated 5.25-inch subwoofer completes this 5.1-channel setup. All parts of this soundbar must be connected to each other via cables, and even though the soundbar officially supports Dolby Atmos, the surround sound effect is probably limited by the lack of rear speakers.
Additionally, the Ultimea 5.1 soundbar and subwoofer feature LED ambient lights, whose color and intensity and be adjusted via the corresponding smartphone app. This audio system further supports HDMI eARC and sports an optical audio input, a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a USB port and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
