Leaker Arsène Lupin has shared new and previously unseen images of what is expected to be Apple's next earbuds release. Typically, Apple will time audio equipment launches to coincide with the introduction of new iPhones, such as the AirPods 4 (curr. $168.99 on Amazon).
Beats product launches are treated differently, as proved the case with the arrival of the Studio Buds Plus in May 2023. This time, it looks as though Apple is lining up to replace the Powerbeats Pro, which has been available for almost five years. Although a release date is not known yet, a launch sometime this year was officially confirmed in late 2024.
In the meantime, the Powerbeats Pro 2 have been pictured in several recent leaks. While previous disclosures focused on product photos, a new set shared by Arsène Lupin appear to confirm a few rumoured enhancements over the Powerbeats Pro. The photos also reinforce the accuracy of prior leaks by showing the same design and four launch colourways.
On the one hand, a symbol for active noise cancellation (ANC) can be seen in one photo highlighting Beats for Android app controls. A toggle exists for a transparency mode too. On the other hand, there is a button labelled 'Heart Rate', which the Powerbeats Pro 2 is alleged to be capable of monitoring via optical sensors in each earbud. Currently, the Powerbeats Pro 2 is anticipated to arrive for €299.95 in the Eurozone; US pricing has not surfaced yet.
