The Nexode 140W looks somewhat like its 100W counterpart from UGREEN; however, it is rated to deliver even more power using the up-to-date PD 3.1 standard and the OEM's GaNFast technology. Accordingly, it is touted as capable of leveraging the potentially superior efficiency of gallium nitride (GaN) as an energy delivery and storage material while charging devices such as 16-inch MacBooks Pro up to "1.8X faster" than some 65W type-C chargers.
UGREEN also claims to have packed the new 140W Nexode variant with a Thermal Guard system that monitors the accessory for heat build-up during charging and with a Power Dispenser that can modulate the output through either of its 3 ports in a battery health-conscious manner.
Therefore, UGREEN asserts that the Nexode 140W's single USB type-A port (finished with a by-now signature purple plastic insert) can deliver up to 22.5W of power, even if one of its type-C ports is being used to draw up to 100W at the same time.
Then again, using the bottom-most type-C port on its own leads to in its new maximum output. The UGREEN Nexode 140W ships with a handy 6-foot up-to-240W cable, and can be ordered from Amazon for US$149.99.
