Realme has now joined the exclusive club of OEMs offering a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-powered phone with the new Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition. The phone succeeds last year's Snapdragon 870-powered GT Master Explorer Edition and brings a host of improvements, including Pixelworks' X7 graphic chip.

At its launch event today in China, Realme debuted a handful of new mobile devices including the new Realme Buds Air 3 Neo, the RealmeBook Air, and most notably, the performance-focused Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition.

The Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition makes its debut as one of the few available Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 devices on the market after the launches of the Xiaomi 12S and Asus ROG Phone 6 series. The GT2 Master Explorer Edition sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120 Hz OLED made by BOE, and is equipped with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Camera-wise, the premium phone features a 50 MP IMX766 with OIS as its main camera, added by a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 2 MP lens. At the front sits a 16 MP selfie camera. The GT2 Master Explorer Edition incorporates Pixelworks's X7 visual processor as well, for improved gaming performance and display performance. You can read more about the X7 chip here
