The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has announced a raft of Honorees and Best Of winners for its CES 2021 Innovation awards. The first category includes 8 smartphones, of which the LG Wing is a slightly obvious choice. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 5000 series has picked up one of the main prizes.

CES 2021 will kick off on January 11, 2021. In the run-up to this event, the CTA has announced the Honoree and Best Of gongs in the traditional Innovation Awards that make up part of the show. Its winners are selected by 89 "industry-expert" judges, who assess a wide range of products from mesh routers to security cameras. Of the Honorees they have chosen, 8 are smartphones.

They include slightly obvious candidates, such as the Asus ROG Phone 3, OnePlus 8 Pro and LG Wing (the world's first and only swivel-screen phone). However, some are a little less expected, such as the TCL 10 5G UW and Samsung Galaxy A51 5G.

Samsung has also scored honorable mentions for its Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Buds Live TWS earbuds. However, its only Best Of nominations have come for the Galaxy Note 20 series and BTS-edition Buds+. The Honorees also include arguably deserving PCs such as the HP Envy 13, Asus ZenBooks Flip and Pro 15 and Lenovo Legion Slim 7.

In other categories, AMD can now say the desktop Ryzen 5000 series is a CES 2021 Best of Innovation Award winner. Honoree status has also been bestowed on the 1More TWS ANC Pros, Audeze Penrose headset and Asus ROG Kunai 3 mobile gamepad. The full line-up of CES 2021 Innovation Awards should be outlined by the end of the virtual event on January 14, 2021.
