In the past, Sony has been known for being one of the slowest Android OEMs to introduce major Android updates to its existing smartphones. Arguably, that position has changed with its fifth-generation devices, which have now all started receiving Android 15 globally in one form or another.
To recap, Sony began rolling out Android 15 to the Xperia 1 V around two weeks ago as 67.2.A.2.41. A few days later, an equivalent build landed for the Xperia 5 V, which should have reached most models globally. Now, early reports have emerged that Android 15 has arrived on the Xperia 10 V too, bearing the build number 68.2.A.2.38A.
Based on XperiCheck, Sony has only delivered this update for carrier-locked versions in Europe and the UK with the model number XQ-DC54. As such, it could be a while before Android 15 reaches other models like the XQ-CQ54. Unfortunately, Android 15 is the end of the road for the Xperia 10 V, which started life running Android 13. By contrast, last year's Xperia 10 VI (curr. $359 on Amazon) should continue receiving major Android updates until Android 17.
