Sennheiser launches the HD 480 Pro: Closed-back headphones designed with accurate audio reproduction for music monitoring and recording

Sennheiser has launched the HD 480 Pro closed-back headphones for professional use in music recording, tracking, and monitoring. They are designed for comfortable use even when wearing eyeglasses and come with user-replaceable ear cushions and headband pads. The headphones have an MSRP of $399 and are available from the company's website and the Sennheiser store on Amazon.
The audio performance of the closed-back HD 480 Pro is designed to closely match that of the open-back HD 490 Pro (sold here on Amazon), providing music professionals with a similar uncolored frequency response when performing in a group or monitoring live events, according to Sennheiser.
The HD 480 Pro uses 38 mm drivers with a frequency range of 3 to 28,700 Hz (-10 dB) and a THD of less than 0.5%. They have an impedance of 130 ohms and a maximum power rating of 300 mW, allowing them to reach a maximum SPL of 130 dB.
They come with both 3.5 mm unbalanced and 6.3 mm balanced cables that incorporate a patented coiled segment to reduce cable noise from reaching the wearer. Additionally, the earcups are ergonomically angled and the headband maintains an equal contact pressure for comfort. The cables, ear cushions, and headband pads can be replaced by the user, and the headphones weigh 272 grams (9.6 oz.).
