The HD 620S is Sennheiser's latest pair of wired and closed-back headphones. Designed with audiophiles in mind, the Sennheiser HD 620S is already available to pre-order in multiple markets.

Sennheiser has now released the HD 620S, a pair of wired and closed-back headphones that it markets as HD 600 (curr. $325.23 on Amazon) successors. Accordingly, the company claims that the HD 620S delivers superior bass response than the older HD 600 covering 20 Hz to 100 Hz frequencies. Moreover, the company adds that the headphones deliver a 6 Hz-30 kHz frequency response overall with 150 Ohms nominal impedance.

Additionally, Sennheiser states that the peak at 110 dB (SPL) with <0,05 % (1kHz/90 db SPL) total harmonic distortion (THD). On top of that, the HD 620S boasts 42 mm angled transducers, as well as 38 mm diaphragms for what Sennheiser describes as 'private, reference listening without compromise'. Thankfully, the headphones support a removable cable, although the default option only measures 1.8 metres.

Nonetheless, Sennheiser's 'twist-and-lock single-sided' cable design provides the option of using after-market cables instead. By default, the HD 620S ships with a 3.5 mm stereo plug and an included 6.3 mm adapter. However, Sennheiser plans to offer a balanced 4.4 mm cable, which will be available this summer. As for the HD 620S itself, Sennheiser has priced the headphones at $349.99 and is already accepting pre-orders in multiple markets. The company will not begin shipping pre-orders until June 6 in North America, though; please see Sennheiser's website for more details.
