The first over-ear headphones from Sonos are set to be launched in a few days. Extensive leaks now reveal official marketing material, the price and launch date as well as the complete specs of the high-end headphones.

Images of the Sonos Ace surfaced online several days ago, and now WinFuture has just published promo images (embedded below) as well as details on the features, while Dealabs has been able to gather information on the launch date and pricing.

Accordingly, the over-ear headphones will be announced on May 28 and pre-orders will start on the same day. Delivery in Europe will begin on June 5. However, the Sonos Ace appears to be more expensive than implied in the latest retailer leak. According to the information from Dealabs, the headphones will start at EUR 499 (approx. $543), competing directly with the Apple AirPods Max.

The Sonos Ace are said to have 40 mm drivers and eight microphones, which are used for phone calls as well as for active noise cancellation (ANC) and transparency mode. The 312 gram headphones support spatial sound with head tracking and lossless hi-fi music, both via Bluetooth and USB-C. The headphones achieve a battery life of 30 hours and a full charge takes three hours.

Playback and volume can be controlled via the touch-sensitive interface, which can also be used to easily stream music playback from a Sonos speaker to the headphones with a simple gesture. Bluetooth Multipoint allows you to connect to multiple devices at the same time. A carrying case, a USB-C cable and a USB-C to AUX cable are included in the scope of delivery.
