FiiO CP13 cassette player launches with transparent retro look
The FiiO CP13 cassette player was announced in January. Now, FiiO is expanding its portfolio with two new models - one with a red front and one with a transparent front. The latter not only perfectly matches the retro charm of the angular design, but also allows a view of the inserted cassette.
In this model, the back is also transparent, which means that at least part of the internal structure is visible without having to unscrew the device. Technically, nothing has changed; compared to a Sony Walkman from the 1990s, the FiiO CP13 offers one major advantage in particular - an integrated 1,800 mAh battery that can be conveniently charged via USB-C. According to FiiO, one charge is enough for 13 hours of music playback, depending on the volume.
The 31.8 mm slim, 310 gram cassette player has a stereo pickup and a fully analog audio circuit. This means that the FiiO CP13 has to do without Bluetooth, but should achieve solid audio quality. FiiO emphasizes that the mechanics were developed in-house, so the CP13 should be able to maintain smoother speeds than current competitors.
