Amazon has dropped the price of the Sennheiser HD 450BT over-ear headphones to its lowest price ever of $74.95. The headphones are designed to introduce music lovers to the world of Sennheiser headphones at an affordable price point.
Although one of the company's basic models, the HD 450BT has active noise cancellation to block out surrounding noise so that listeners can better enjoy their music outdoors. Voices are more clearly separated from background noise during calls with the use of dual beamforming microphones.
The wireless headphones have a frequency range of 18 Hz to 22 kHz, which is more than sufficient for the SBC, AAC, aptX, and aptX LL codecs that it supports for streaming music from services like Spotify. It does not support the LDAC High-Res Audio codec for playback of high-resolution music. Use of aptX LL drops the latency to under 40 msec.
By default, the headphones have a frequency profile that slightly emphasizes the bass and deemphasizes the treble, but the Sennheiser Smart Control app can be used to quickly tailor the equalization of the sound to one's liking.
The battery can power the headphones for up to 30 hours and recharges in two hours with a USB-C power source. Owners can also connect the headphones to any audio source using a 3.5 mm cable to enable unlimited runtimes.
