Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge was teased at CES 2025 last month, and there has been a steady drip of information about the new ultraslim phone since that first sneak peek. What has remained unknown until now, though, is any clues about the launch date or availability for the S25 Edge.
While Samsung has been rather tight-lipped about the upcoming launch, a new leak from reliable source, Max Jambor, claims that the “S25 Edge will be available in Q2.” That's not a very concrete launch date, but it's an indication that we may see more titbits about the S25 Edge at MWC in early March, although that predates the start of Q2 by a month.
It's likely that the new phone will launch at a dedicated Samsung Unpacked event, although there hasn't been much of an indication of when the exact announcement or launch date will be. Previous leaks surrounding the S25 Edge launch date indicated that a July or August launch would be likely, but that date was subsequently supplanted by a rumour claiming a May launch date. The latter aligns more closely with the information recently shared by Jambor on X, lending credence to both sources.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is slated to be just 5.84 mm thick, allegedly falling short of the similarly slim Apple iPhone 17 Air that will supposedly launch sometime in the next year. The Galaxy S25 Edge, however, will seemingly beat the iPhone 17 Air to market, as the latter appears to be launching as late as September 2025.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will seemingly feature similar specifications to the base Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphone (curr. $799.99 from Amazon), although potentially with an even smaller battery and a slightly different camera setup.
