Samsung has now started shipping Galaxy S25 series pre-orders, including those for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The whereabouts of the Galaxy S25 Edge remain unclear though, following its initial showcase last month during Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose.
Samsung has not revealed full specifications for the return of its 'Edge' smartphone, either. The inclusion of fewer rear-facing cameras in the Galaxy S25 Edge than the Galaxy S25 or Galaxy S25 Plus (curr. $999.99 on Amazon) implies that Samsung has made trade-offs to reduce device thickness. For instance, a new report suggests that the Galaxy S25 Edge will be a mere 5.84 mm thick while also measuring 75.5 mm wide and 158.2 mm tall.
The drop to a sub-6 mm frame is said to make the Galaxy S25 Edge thinner than the iPhone 17 Air, albeit perhaps at the expense of Qualcomm's slower Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with fewer Performance cores. Allegedly, Samsung may further restrict its device to one colourway, presumably the silver finish on show at Galaxy Unpacked.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is anticipated to arrive this spring before Samsung presents the Galaxy Z Fold7 and other foldables over the summer. By extension, this should see the Galaxy S25 Edge arriving before the iPhone 17 Air too, which is expected to be its main rival.
