Retroid has elaborated on the teasers it shared yesterday for the Pocket Classic, which arrived in the wake of a resolution to ongoing Pocket Mini display issues. To recap, the company revealed more render images of the Pocket Classic yesterday while also naming launch colour options and an optional six-button variant.
Now, it has confirmed display specifications for the device, evidence of which we have embedded below. In short, the Pocket Classic will match the Ayaneo Pocket DMG with a 3.92-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 1,240 x 1,080 pixels with an effective 5:4 aspect ratio (1.15:1). By contrast, the Analogue Pocket (curr. $320 on Amazon) utilises a 3.5-inch LCD with a higher 1,600 x 1,440-pixel resolution and a 1.11:1 aspect ratio.
Also, the Pocket Classic will be capable of reaching 500 nits, compared to 400 nits for the Pocket DMG. Although this reveals a 25% advantage in the Pocket Classic's favour, Analogue does not list the Pocket's peak brightness value on its website.
Please note that while Retroid only links these specifications to the six-button 'Classic 6' variant, we suspect they apply to all SKUs. Other details about the Pocket Classic remain unknown for now; we would not be surprised if Retroid offered the device with the same Dimensity 1100 and Snapdragon 865 chipsets as the Pocket Flip 2, though.
