Game Console is preparing to release a budget retro gaming handheld. This time, the company has decided to borrow heavily from the RG40XX V, albeit with perhaps an even less ergonomic design than Anbernic's recent handheld.

Anbernic has slackened off the relentless approach it took with releasing new gaming handhelds last year. In summary, the company managed to introduce new models monthly, although many of these contained the same underlying hardware as each other.

As it stands, the latest Anbernic handheld is the RG34XX (curr. $84.99 on Amazon), which is rumoured to be shortly undergoing its second refresh despite being less than three months old. While Anbernic has not announced anything new, it seems that Game Console has decided to adapt one of its recent gaming handhelds.

Despite not explicitly acknowledging the company in question, Nittrx has mentioned the company behind the 'soccer ball machine'. In short, this appears to be the R36 Max, which debuted at the end of January. This time around, Game Console has seemingly been inspired by the RG40XX V and its unusual layout.

The name of Game Console's next gaming handheld is unknown for now. Nonetheless, the placement of its ABXY, Start/Select and d-pad buttons are all in line with the RG40XX V, as is its front-firing grille. For some reason, Game Console has moved the single joystick to the centre, thereby making it equidistant with the d-pad and ABXY buttons. More details about the device are unknown for now, such as its chipset and display panel.
